King’s Boiler Hire are extremely proud to be part of the inaugural and ground breaking de-steaming project at Imperial College London.
The works being undertaken by Imperial include the removal of the steam generating infrastructure and replacement with one of the largest Low Temperature Heating System networks on their South Kensington Campus. This project significantly reduces the amount of carbon, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2), sent into the atmosphere and limits the harmful effects of climate change.
Being the only company capable of supplying both steam and hot water boilers on such a large scale in one project, King’s Boiler Hire were the chosen suppliers of the temporary boiler plant (three steam and six hot water boilers). The hire was planned in advance, with deliveries to Imperial meticulously programmed for weekends, through the busy capital, to avoid road closures and disruption to students, local businesses, museums and historical venues. The hire boilers have been vital in the continuous supply of heating and hot water to ensure the smooth running of Imperial’s world class public research faculties of engineering, natural sciences, medicine and business.
